We are celebrating today following the award of a brand new football kit by the Football Foundation, the UK’s largest sports charity.

Thanks to the hard work of Diego Lopez , our sport’s worker, we have been awarded the new Nike kit worth £400.  The Football Foundation provides £1M worth of kit and equipment vouchers to junior clubs and schools, ensuring young players of all abilities have the best possible start in the game.

Well done Diego!

Sing Up-spread a little singing

Written on February 24, 2010 – 8:45 pm | by mcooke

What a great day! Thanks to all the parents who attended the assembly this morning and enjoyed a wonderful selection of songs sung by the choir and the whole school. The singing continued throughout the day with each class singing their own special songs. At the end of the day all classes sang Manchester UK in their classrooms and the sounds filled the corridors.

Many thanks to Miss Wakefield for all her hardwork and preparation for a great day.

Remember to go to the music blog to find out more.

Assembly – Monday 18th January

Written on January 18, 2010 – 10:51 am | by mcooke

The aim of today’s assembly was to think about our behaviour in class and how it affects everyone else. We need to encourage all of us to think before we speak, or take action that we might later regret.

I would like your suggestions about things we can do before we speak such as counting to 10. Please leave your comments.

January Newsletter

January Newsletter

A very Happy New Year to all our families and thank you for making your way to school in difficult conditions.

New staff

We would like to welcome Janet Howard and Carl Matthews to the Plymouth Grove team. Janet is our new school business manager and Carl will be teaching in Year 4/3. We hope they will be very happy at our school.

Snow disruption

As you are all aware the snow has caused massive disruption over the last few days and I thank you for your understanding over having to close the school. There were a number of factors that I had to take into consideration when making the decision, including; the ability of staff to be able to get to school as many have lengthy journeys to make, the safety of staff and pupils when  in school and the effectiveness of our heating system. I also wanted to give parents as much notice as possible in order to make alternative arrangements. We only have cleared key areas as we have to be able to manage our grit supplies.

If these situations arise again the school blog, www.plymouthgrove.net will always contain up to date information and we always inform local radio stations. On the Monday and the Tuesday we tried to phone as many parents as possible to inform them of the school closure. There was a number of occasions when the telephone numbers were incorrect. Please can you make sure that you keep the school up to date with any changes in contact details.
