December Newsletter
Another busy autumn term comes to an end on Friday 16th December at 3.15pm. We can look back with great satisfaction at what has been achieved over the last 3 months. I have just looked at all the class blogs since September and it is great to see everything the children have learnt and experienced. Year 6 visits to Ghyll Head, quad blogging in Years 4 and 6, Year 3 and 4 visits to the air raid shelters. Eid, Diwali and Harvest Festival celebrations. National languages day, Poetry Day and, just this week, a beautiful nativity performed by KS1.
Parent Volunteers
A great big thank you to all our parent volunteers who have provided the school with great support this term. They have been setting up the computerised school library system, teaching the children how to play chess, helping in reception, listening to readers and providing useful translations for families.
Staffing
We are very fortunate to have such a hardworking and committed staff in the school and I would like to thank them for all their efforts and dedication this term. Three new members of staff will be joining the team in January; Jeanette Alcock, Suneerat Wong and Uzma Khan will be joining our teaching assistant team in KS1 and KS2.
Dinner Money
A reminder that the cost of dinner money is now £11 per week.
PE Kit
We will be having a ‘bring your PE kit’ drive when we return in January. We would like to see all children in the school’s PE kit from January onwards. The PE kit is available from the school office for £9. Children are able to wear leggings underneath the shorts and jumpers can be worn on cold days. PE is a compulsory part of the curriculum and it is necessary that all children should take part.
Housing Development
It has been with great sadness to watch the destruction of the trees surrounding Plymouth Grove Avenue. It should make us more determined to make sure we protect all the green spaces available in our cities. The housing development is expected to be completed in 2013 and so we can expect further disruption during this time. We will always try to keep you updated with the developments.

Monday 12th December KS2 Christmas Party
Tuesday 13th December Reception Christmas party

Happy Christmas
On behalf of all the staff I would like to wish a Happy Christmas to all members of our school community who are celebrating at this time of year.
School will finish at 3.15pm on Friday 16th December and will re-open on Wednesday 4th January.
