Welcome to 4B
Welcome to 4B’s class page!
We will post newsletters and important class information on this page, but please contact Mrs Butler via ClassDojo if you wish to ask any questions, or communicate anything regarding your child. If you need help signing up to ClassDojo, or need a new letter to sign up, please let us know!
Please make sure your child is reading every night for at least 30 minutes, and that their reading record is signed and returned to school every morning. Home reading is one of the most important things that your child can do to help their learning in school.
Homework will be given on Thursdays and needs to be back in school by Tuesday. Spellings will be given and tested each Tuesday.
Swimming day – Tuesday
PE day – Wednesday
Autumn 2 Curriculum
This half-term, we are going to be focusing on South America! We will be writing journey stories, and then will create poetry based on the artwork of Frida Kahlo.
We will be carrying on working on our calculations skills, and will learn how to multiply and divide bigger numbers. After that, we will be learning about area.
We will be exploring the area of sound. We will be looking at where sounds come from and how we can hear them. We will conduct some experiments to create and measure sound.
Geography. This half-term, we will be looking at the geography of South America.
We will be continuing to develop our vocabulary from year 3 and Autumn 1 by exploring the theme of “My local area, your local area.”
Our theme is drawing. We will be looking at the work of Frida Kahlo and will create our own self-portraits in her style.
We will be looking at our family networks, and think about our right to be part of a loving and caring family. We focus on bullying, and how we can stop it happening.
We will be learning all about coding our own programs using Scratch.
We will be continuing our work from Autumn 1, looking at the ways in which life can be seen as a journey and the way that different religions acknowledge this.
