The School Day

School opens at 8:50 to pupils. Children are met outside by the class teacher.  It is very important that children are in school at this time as the doors are closed and locked when the teachers return upstairs. Registration is between 8:50am and 9.05am. The children then begin their lessons.  This is another reason why it is important that children are on time.

Break time is for 15 minutes between 10:15 and 10:30 (Year 1 and 2) and 10:30 to 10:45 (Year 3-6)

There is an assembly every day and this takes place before your child has their lunch.

Lunchtime is for 45 minutes and again varies from year to year. This means that we can accommodate all children in the dining hall.  Lunches run between 12.00 and 12:45. Generally the younger the child, the earlier they have their lunch

Year 1 and 2 finish their lunch break at 12:45. They have an afternoon playtime at a time that fits in with the teacher’s lessons.  In the afternoon, children in Key Stage 1 may have an afternoon break. This is supervised by the class teacher and is taken at a time deemed most appropriate.

Children in Year 3 and 4 finish their lunch break at 1:15pm and Year 5 and 6 finish their lunch break at 1:45pm. Generally, children in Key stage 2 do not have an afternoon break time.

At the end of the school day, children finish at different times to help stagger parking and parents with children in different year groups. If your child is in Key Stage 1 please wait for the teacher to open the classroom door and then make yourself known. The teacher will then instruct your child to come to you. In Key Stage 2, children are brought outside by a teacher and your child must tell the teacher when an adult is here to pick them up.

Reception and Nursery: finish at 3:00pm
Year 1 and 2: Finish at 3:10pm
Year 3 and 4: Finish at 3:15pm
Year 5 and 6: Finish at 3:20pm

PLEASE PICK UP YOUR YOUNGEST CHILD FIRST.
